About us:

The Parliamentary Budget Office is established under the Parliamentary Budget Officer Act 2010 as an independent department of the Parliament. The Parliamentary Budget Officer is an apolitical role, directly accountable to NSW Parliament and the Legislative Assembly Public Accounts Committee.

The Parliamentary Budget Officer provides independent costings of election policies and budget impact statements for costed policies, in response to requests by parliamentary leaders. The Office operates in a small, time-limited and high-profile environment requiring strict confidentiality, impartiality, sound judgement and coordinated delivery.


About the role:

As the Director of Costings and Budget Analysis in the Parliamentary Budget Office, you’ll be responsible for the preparation of the budget impact statements for the two major political parties. The role will also see you leading election policy and costing teams while ensuring that independent and evidence-based fiscal analysis supports parliamentary transparency.
